Summer, as told by food

14 07 2010

Hi.

I haven’t been here in a while.  Work has been crazy lately but it seems like I’m saying that all the time. The truth is, I’ve been getting more responsibilities, which feels great because my work is recognized and yet, it means I need to spend more time on different projects.

The workload during the week puts the social life assigned to my weekends into hypermode, as I try to get the most of out of those two days. At the end of at all, I am very fortunate.

Here are some things I’ve been up to, as told by food.

Dinners with all friends, at places like Apartment 138

Watercress Salad: apples, bleu cheese, toasted walnuts, sherry-maple vinaigrette

Dessert for two: something chocolate with pistachio ice cream = delicious

Fried calamari at Nick’s Lobster with a side of a fabulous view.

Dark beer…because I love dark beer.

Surviving the Bagel Boy Sunday morning line…

For the Lean & Mean:

Whole wheat bagel with egg whites, turkey bacon, tomato and Swiss cheese

Watching the World Cup in Chinatown:

Over food, of course:

And bubble tea!

What does your summer taste like?

I missed you. My summer tastes like rice and beans and cheap wine. I look forward to NY.

Yummmm! I wish my summer tasted more like bubble tea. Maybe I’ll go in search of some.

So far, summer is tasting like peaches, nectarines, and lots of berries. But soon enough, it will be ALL tomatoes. I can’t wait :)

I’m so glad to hear the job is going well!!!

My summer is tasty more and more like the tomatoes from my garden as they ripen. Basil too. Oh my, drool.

My summer tastes like… chocolate.
