It’s a short one, let’s get productive!
Many of you share my enthusiasm for Lady Gaga, regardless of her craziness. Despite her shock factor approach, I feel like she’s less polarized than Taylor Swift, who is pretty ordinary in comparison. But I know a ton of people who can’t stand Swift for some reason.
That’s my pop culture rave for the day 
I was planning on taking a strength training class at the gym this morning, so I made sure to have a proper fueling breakfast. Thomas Multigrain Light English Muffin with PB, banana & cottage cheese mixed with pumpkin.
But my plan was foiled when the bus came late and I got to the gym 20 min after it started…but it’s okay. Instead I ran, spent some quality time with a CrossRamp and did some ab work.
For lunch, I had a tofu/spinach/hummus sandwich on toasted TJ’s Sprouted Grains bread:
With cheesy broccoli on the side: steamed broc with a shredded and melted cheese stick:
And continued working on my fruit quota for the day:
After lunch, I got to baking again! Since all the Super-Charge Me! cookies were gone yesterday and were such a big hit with my family, I decided to make another batch.
This time, I added Peanut Butter Chips and used spelt flour instead of whole wheat.
This was my first time using spelt flour and it definitely made a difference in these cookies. They were much softer and chewier. I can’t wait to do some more experimental baking with this flour.
The final product is delicious…those PB chips! What an addition.
For dinner, I had leftover brown rice & red beans, with avocado slices and some Greek yogurt as a sour cream impersonator.
Yoplait is catching on to the Greek yogurt craze:
I only had a little, so I don’t know how I feel about it yet. First impressions: less tart than Chobani & Fage Plain, a little more sour-cream like. Full report to come!
So I’m turning 22 in four days and still have no bday plans.
What’s the most fun bday that you’ve had?
Aren’t pumpkin and cottage cheese the perfect combo? Love it with raisin bran on top:)
I will def keep my eyes out for the Yoplait Greek yogurt.
Spelt flour is my favvvorite! I love it with all of my itty-bitty heart.
Hrm, most fab birthday? Honestly I’m not really sure! They’ve been pretty good so far!
I’ve never heard that about spelt before – very interesting. I almost bough some spelt seeds to grind at home for future baking, but now I’m regretting not getting them!
I’m not sure if that conclusion would ring true for all kinds of baking…It definitely worked for this recipe because it’s vegan and in a vegan, well-tested cookbook.
How well would it work in a batch of sinful brownies? We’ll have to see and find out!

I want to try baking with spelt- I got the Babycakes cookbook for Christmas and a lot of the recipes call for spelt. I planned to just use what I have, but now that I know there is a noticeable difference, I’ll pick some up!
Best birthday…my 18th. That’s when you can legally drink in the UK and I had parties with different people every night for a week- nothing crazily outrageous, but lots of fun
The best night was ice cream cocktails at TGI Friday’s (think alcoholics McDonalds milkshakes) followed by clubbing

I saw that Yoplait yogurt the other day, and was very skeptical. I’ll probably still end up trying it.
For my 18th birthday, we had a cute little Mexican themed dinner at my house (my birthday is Cinco de Mayo). And it was really special because it was my senior year of high school, and it was only my closest friends there. I’ll never forget it
My 21st birthday was incredible. We packed 100 people into an apartment throughout the night; it was loud, crazy and fun. Oh, and that’s also the night that Bill kissed me for the first time.
Gaga at the grammy’s gave me chills – she is extraordinary!
23rd bday was the best one i’ve had…it included a ton of sangria, tequila shots, and way too many people in my tiny apt. and it’s the first bday “party” i’ve had since i was oh…10!?
I’m pretty sure tequila shots void the importance of the location….sounds awesome!
