One of the best questions in the world.
Since Sunday is the Black Friday of Thanksgiving travels, I decided to head back to school on Saturday night and beat the rush. I always forget how loud and socially demanding Brooklyn is, which makes me miss school so much more.
Amherst was a ghost town last night and I slept like a baby in my huge bed, wrapped in all the blankets that I own. I’ll take the low temperatures over three blaring televisions and continuous police sirens any day.
While home, I tried out a packet of the Amazing Meal Chocolate Infusion I received as a sample for breakfast one morning. I blended it with water, a banana and 1/4 cup oats. I really enjoyed the taste, it’s like I was drinking a less sugary Nesquik, with stellar nutritional stats.

Before leaving on Saturday morning, my dad, who knows that I’m an oatmeal enthusiast, offered me a packet of his Quaker Weight Control Instant Oatmeal in the Banana Bread flavor.
He has a whole cabinet where he keeps his oatmeal stash…I don’t like instant packets but when my dad offers, I take it. It’s coming from a man who also has a beer fridge…can you see where I get my sense of balance from?

With a small banana, pecans & PB
This morning, I made an easy egg scramble with some frozen veggies, lots of herbs and red onion. A piece of toast with raspberry jam completed the meal.

I generously covered my breakfast in hot sauce. I’d like to kiss the person who invented this on the forehead. It makes me cry sometimes, but in a good way.

My roommates are back and it feels less like the Shining in here. And of course, homework is waiting, patiently as always.
What did you have for breakfast today?

Sriracha is my life!!!!! Okay, that may be a slight exaggeration….but I do use it on anything and everything (savory) when home.
But that stir fry looks so delish! I actually had a bowl of oatmeal today, for breakfast though…with a banana, crunchy peanut butter, some pb puffins, sliced almonds and cinnamon on top! I’ve been in a rut….so i needed to get creative!
Your pop sounds like a funny guy with these secret stashes…
My grandpa always asked “what’s for breakfast” as soon as we had finished dinner.
This morning I had two fried eggs and hot sauce in waaaay too much of a hurry!
haha your dad with an oatmeal stash and a beer fridge! i love itttttttttt!
my dad has weird quirks, but I wont embarrass him……..today.
haha i love hot sauceeeeeeeeeeee, but mostly only in soups!!! i also love putting tons of black pepper on my mac and cheese though. Amazing!
blaring tvs and sirens does sound a little redic. im all for the quiet time as well
HAPPY TUESDAY OLGAAAAAAAAAA
Glad you made it back safely.
Sriracha is my favorite. It is such a great all-purpose condiment. I have a big bottle sitting in my kitchen, waiting to be added to everything!
I had French toast. I love weekend breakfasts!
Breakfast is my favorite! And I use those Weight Control oatmeal packs when I have to travel, they are great on the go, and tasty too
I had PB+banana toast this morning, topped with loads of cinnamon.
I heart srirachi! I had an omelette for breakfast. I had an early flight back to New York, but I hate airport food so I waited until 10 when I got home to eat!
PB&J oats for breakie — typical.
hot sauce is like crack to me — have you ever had it in mac and cheese? money in the bank!
Sriracha is amazing. Just a drop and it takes food to a new level. Next time you’re in brooklyn we’re going to my dumpling place on 54th and 8th. They’re not quick but the dumplings there are amazing, and even more so with sriracha.
wow, all of your eats look incredible! this morning i had a yogurt mess of fage 2%, banana & some raspberries, kashi go lean, and cinnamon raisin swirl peanut butter-yum!!

Olga!!!
Why HELLO again! (!!!!!!!!!!) I’ve been loving your posts, as always.
I just read this with a huge smile on my face and had to say hi (from Arizona now – back from Brooklyn – sob!).
For breakfast I had a giant second-or-two stream of plain, whole-milk yogurt (OMg – heaven!) and a big blob of my mom’s cranberry sauce (chutney-ish with hunks of dried apricot and apricot jam) stirred in. I also added a few handfuls of crunchy, spirally-looking cereal “worms” (sounds gross, but I’m kind of addicted to the crunch-crunch!) and boiled water for a big mug of tea which I sipped while watching the sunrise over a bunch of rainy clouds. AH, it was fabulous. As was yours!!
Much love!!! Regina
PS. Thanksgiving at your house is INCREDIBLE!!
