It’s my mom’s birthday! For the third year in a row, I’m at school and not home to celebrate it with my family. Fortunately, Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
People often tell me that I look nothing like my mom. But I’m proud to say that I’ve inherited her hips, overachiever mentality and determination.
She was a phenomenal doctor, who practiced bedside manner like an art. She’s a wonderful mom and a dangerously beautiful woman. I hope to be half as cool as she is someday.

Yesterday, the lecture in my World Food Habits blew my mind. Remind me why I’m graduating early again?
Yeah. Except I spent the rest of the day craving beer…good thing I live walking distance from the Harp. I scored a sweet glass too.
And after putting my learning into practice last night, all I want to do is sleep like this:
But I’ll have to vicariously live out that dream through Gracie Jean, since I have enough homework to keep me busy for like 72 consecutive hours.
Besides, I have some very exciting plans this weekend…
So I better get to it!

I remember you showing us that picture of her hair before!! So cool! My mom totally had butt-length (that sounds rude and gross, uh oh) long hair too!! (And she is a doctor!) Too bad my Ukranian roots are on my Dad’s side. Otherwise we’d have even more in common!!

This is weird: I don’t know what traits I inherited from my mom because I’m adopted. I have a lot of things that I learned from my adoptive mom–like a general impatience with dysfunctional people–but I’m hoping that if I can find my biological mom, I’ll be able to see how we’re alike.
