Even though it’s getting a little too cold for comfort in New England these days, I love getting up early, too early for my hunger to wake up, too early for anything outside to stir.
There’s something about stillness that makes me feel calm, despite my agenda for the day.
Today, I’ve spent the early morning playing around with my graduation present.
It’s a gift I could get behind. Literally.

A Canon Rebel! We’ve only met in my dreams before. Didn’t I tell you that my parents are saints?
I haven’t stepped away from a complete dependence on auto-mode just yet, but I’m slowly working on it. If only I could replace all of my academic work with this one book:

But all in good time, right?
When the hunger beast finally woke up, I tried a new yogurt with breakfast.

I had it with 1/2 a banana, Grape Nuts, flax seed and TJ’s Country Pumpkin Spice Granola. I loved the maple flavor but was thrown off by the consistency. It was too runny. But to be fair, I’ve been spoiled by Greek yogurt, which is still #1 in my book. Or blog, rather.

For lunch, I was craving soup and made the rest of my Bob’s Red Mill Vegi Soup mix. I added some spices and carrots and bam! A delicious meal. Complete with a Wasa Crisp for crunchiness.

And then…wait. What’s that? What are you talking about?
Oh, that’s just half a Butternut Squash Almond Cranberry cookie my roommate baked this afternoon for a meeting she’s hosting. (Yeah, I already asked if I could go too. Denied).

No? Not that? Oh, you must mean the furry thing behind my cookie?

That’s our cat Gracie Jean, lounging. It’s what she does best.
I also received an impressive Amazing Grass loot courtesy of Teri. Really excited to try this stuff out!

I gotta go spend some quality time with J. Michaels and then write a short paper.
What’s your favorite cookie?

Peanut has mastered the art of lounging around too!
Favorite cookie? Easy… the big black & white ones that NYC is famous for.
Oh, how I lust after a camera like that
Fave cookie = gingersnaps, vegan or raw!
(That reminds me to come up with a recipe…)
yay for a new camera!!! how awesome.
Love the Gracie Jean picture
Hm…favorite would be classic chocolate chip, right out of the oven.
A butternut squash cookie? I didn’t know there was such a thing! I like all cookies – I don’t discriminate
I love DSLRs!! Mine is a NIkon but I thought about the Canon.
Favorite cookie – oatmeal raisin I think. Actually, any cookie that’s soft is a favorite in my book
Love the camera!!! That’s what I’m hoping to get for my birthday this saturday
I can’t wait to see all your pictures! I can already see a difference.
I was at TJ’s the other day and saw that pumpkin spice granola. I thought of your blog! I almost got it but then realized I need to save money
Yeah, that granola is kindy of pricey! It was definitely a splurge
Sweet new camera! Awesome Olga! Fav cookie, hrm that’s a good one. There’s many I like, like PB and chocolate chip, gingerbread, and gingersnaps. Mmm!
What a great grad present! And well deserved
Have fun…can’t wait to hear how it works out for you. I am on the hunt for a new camera.
I liked the flavour of that yogurt too, but I can’t eat runny yogurt anymore…unless I think of it as milk
Favourite cookie: white chocolate macademia
Aw, what an amazing present
mhm, cookies. Chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, ginger cookies…any kind actually:D

Very nice! I totally have camera envy!
Hey, sutble must be your middle name. Great post!
Awesome camera! I like that maple yogurt, but I agree–it’s super runny! My solution was to pop it in the freezer and eat it like froyo. lol! My favorite cookies are snickerdoodles
