I want to start off by thanking you for your sweet comments on my first 5K race. Honestly, without the blogging community I would never have enough courage and inspiration to think that I can run at all, not to mention participate in a race. Crossing the finish line is as much an accomplishment of mine as it is of yours. Thank you!
Today has been all about studying. Let’s just say that it’s going to be a long week. I decided to switch it up for breakfast from the usual oatmeal. I had 1/2 a toasted NY bagel with an over-easy egg, topped with some shredded cheese. Plus a banana with cinnamon & the last bit of cottage cheese.

I forgot how much I enjoy the bagel & egg combination. It’s delicious and filling. Lunch was very un-photogenic: left over TJ’s chili (from a can), some Kashi crackers and an apple.
The mundane studying continued throughout the whole day. It was freezing cold in my house and I tried to keep warm with lots of tea. Gracie Jean really wanted me to play instead of read about the theories used to explain the occurrence of global terrorism. Bad kitty (but such a cute one, right?)

Best part of the day was definitely grocery shopping! My roommates and I haven’t gone in a real long time, which explains why I was on my last can of tuna and eating canned chili I dug out from the back of my pantry for like three days. I’m in my element when I’m surrounded by FOOOOOOOOOOOOD
I danced my way through the produce aisle and made sure to pick up the latest Blogger Secret Ingredient. Possibly the most exciting items on sale are the gems that are currently in my freezer: buy one, get one free.

I’ve consumed my body weight’s equivalent of the Caramel Praline Crunch before, but this is the first time that I finally see the Pumpkin Limited Edition in a store around here!
I wonder how long it will survive…
My dinner was the epitome of edible fall. I had a sweet potato with some Smart Balance (nuked in the micro), roasted beets, carrots, onions & garlic topped with a little bit of wheat berries and some local greenhouse lettuce. Mmmmmm…

Obviously, dessert was pumpkin ice cream, with a bonus. A crumbled chocolate-raspberry cookie on top. I tried to use the smallest bowl we own, I really did

I am not afraid to say that dinner was just phenomenal. So simple and yet so full of flavaaaa.
Back to studying for me. Those pages aren’t going to read themselves.
Countdown to Jay-Z? 5 days
What’s your favorite fall flavor?

I definitely feel ya on the long days/weeks with school right now…let’s just say it’s gunna be a looong month and a half

HAPPY TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and I have to do this (read my last post to know why):
Primary Succession: gradual establishment of biotic (living) communities in areas with no soil (terrestrial) or bottom sediment (marine). [E.x. Mt. St. Helens after a volcanic eruption]
fav fall flavor: apple!!! anything apple…since i’m one of the few that hates pumpkin AND sweet potatoes…>P
Definitely anything autumn squash: pumpkin, acorn, butternut etc. And all of it goes so well with my favorite grains!!! Barley, kamut and good ol’ brown rice. I love stuffing squashes and eating a plain old baked sweet potato hot out of the oven
I love the butternut squash flavor best
Your eats look so yummy! My favorite fall flavor is anything cinnamon or gingerbread… I try to like pumpkin flavored things, but I’m not usually wild about it.
Pumpkin of course. I’m actually considering getting up after 4 hours of laying around and watching baseball to go buy some pumpkin ice cream right now after reading this post. I don’t care how cold out it is!
