But seein’ JAY-Z AIN’T ONE!
That’s right, Mr. Jay himself is gracing my school with his show this October. Student tickets (only $25!) were limited, and my roommates and I were smart enough to get them early! 
Honestly, I’m still in shock. I don’t particularly listen to rap, at least not for purely recreational purposes, but Jay-Z just does it for me. Maybe it’s all the Brooklyn love in his songs. I just can’t deny him!
I also wanted to thank you for your lunch suggestions. Now I’ve got lots of excellent ideas and no excuses for a boring meal…how many non-food bloggers/readers are concerned with the lackluster of their food? Hahah.

I’m up to runs over 2 miles at this point of my 5K training and I’ve found pre-run fuel to be key in finishing them without feeling like I’m going to collapse any minute.

It’s been a great, and just as healthy, alternative to oats alone…but I also added a secret ingredient to one of my bowls:
Coffee milk! It rivals chocolate milk for sure…I added 1/2 a cup to this bowl and it was incredible:
Staying with the grains-for-breakfast theme, I finally remembered to make a breakfast cookie this morning!
1/2 cup oats, 1/2 a very ripe banana, flax, raisins, a splash of milk, topped with PB & unsweetened shredded coconut.
Goes great with a cup of coffee as well.
I think we’re finally getting internet at our house today, which means I can read your blogs and the news again. Honestly, how did I ever live without the internet? I try to watch CNN, MSNBC and listen to NPR, but it’s just not the same as the glory of the internet. I need me some New York Times!

OMG I am ridic excited for the Jay-Z concert. Starting friday, I am putting my jay-z songs on a playlist for walking around campus. a full month of “change clothes, and go”

Mmm those oats look so creamy! I’ve never heard of coffee milk but it sounds delicious. I read my all my news online – The TV news bothers me because they have to play the same story over and over again in case someone missed it. I like to pick and choose my news stories!

I get my news from the internet. My TV doesn’t work and I don’t have a radio- my 3 weeks without internet or phone were very very weird!

I hate Internet problems. They drive me crazy! As far as news goes, I love NYT, CNN, and MSNBC. But sometimes I choose blogs over news when time is scarce…ahh, bad journalista!

Jay Z is AMAZING- you’re so lucky! Enjoy the show. I would be all about Coffee milk- lip smacking deliciousness!! That milk makes your cereal look super creamy too! I watch CNN in the am when I can or Fox News and then just cnn.com while I’m at work
We don’t have cable and I’m lazy and uniformed (whoops!) so I set my homepage to MSN and get my news exclusively from their bullet points!
