Did you hear about that one? ‘Cause I finished it this weekend.
My stats:
Friday: 8 hrs in the library
Saturday: 7 hrs
Sunday: 8 1/2 hrs
Monday: 6 1/2 hrs
I wish I was kidding, or even just exaggerating. I think I’ve determined that 8 1/2 hrs is my current library threshold, the max number of hours before delirium starts creeping in, especially since that time I moved into the library last semester for my public policy research.
My heart rate monitor:

The good news is that mayjuh projects I cared about doing well on are done! Is it weird that I actually immensely enjoyed writing one of the longest papers? I think I just lost a dozen readers with that confession
While I became a library rat, life still went on.
Things still bloomed:

And it still poured. Thanks, New England!

To be honest, I started going through blogging withdrawal while I was away. I can’t wait to play catch up! What did I miss? Did anyone else get engaged or anything?
Because I love you, I also captured some highlights of eating, drinking and being merry from the weekend.
Eating
One night for dinner, I had baked tofu, steamed broccoli and butternut squash fries wedges. It was perfect:

For breakfast one morning, I topped my breakfast cookie with creamy peanut butter icing: part-skim ricotta+ff Fage+smooth PB

I thought that was good, but then I had creamy PB & J icing: part-skim ricotta+ff Fage+smooth PB+ Sugar free blueberry fruit preserves. SO good!

A really good power through homework snack: Kashi U cereal & roasted almonds

My parents brought me this fancy cheese. Thanks mom!

I can’t attest to this cheese’s snacking and entertaining capabilities (yet!) but it does melt beautifully over an egg on toast.

There is an egg under that cheesy goodness, I swear!

Drinking

A cup of tea with fresh chocolate mint leaves. Yes, you read that right. Chocolate. Mint. I am also intrigued.
I discovered a treasure at a local liquor store:

$6 for six beers. Buy at your own risk ’cause you can’t look inside the bag beforehand. But I made out pretty well

Being Merry
One of my neighbors was supposed to move to Louisiana but he just got the dream job of his life in Amherst…So we had a Best of Louisiana partaaay for him.

Corn bread, amazing red beans & dirty rice.
I am SO EXCITED to read non-academic things tonight! Fun reading material has been piling up next to my bed. Of course, I’m also going to dig into that mystery pack

I can’t wait to rejoin life after that paper writing marathon! I’m celebrating my last day off classes as a junior tonight!
Name one item that’s on your night table right now. No alarm clocks allowed

my apartment is so small I can’t have a nighttable!

I am seriously amazed – don’t know how you do it! I think I’d lose my mind in the libraray that many days – congrats!
LOVE the mug – it sums it all up!
haha where can i get the mystery bag? also, I think our entire cohort was in the library on sunday and downtown last night
nightstand? my phone, because it is my alarm clock.
Congratulations on finishing! (Are you ALL done now? I hope so after that crapload of hours in the library.)
One thing on my nightstand? Um…iron pills that I never take.
Don’t worry, you’re not alone in your paper-writing enjoyment. I get into that “fugue” and just don’t want to quit.
Something on my nightstand: my nightly smoothie of course!
Glad the marathon of essaying is almost over! Also I am so jealous of the 6$ grab bag of beer, sounds like a deal
wow you are quite the motivation spending that much time in the library! Congrats on finishing the major things
What do you think of the Kashi U cereal? I’ve heard mixed things but wanna try it anyways. I’ve never tasted a currant!
I love the title of this post
Great job on getting your work done!
lamp!
ha. i’m so boring
Gang Leader for a Day is a great book!
On my nightstand is a copy of Nancy Pearl’s Booklust. I also have a empty cup on there that’s been there for months. I always forget to take it downstairs.
oops! I posted that twice! Oh well, twice is nice and more love fo you!

Props to you for having so much discipline!! Those are some longgg hours in the lib, but i’m sure they will end up paying off!! I’m guessing these papers will all be recieving big, fat- A’s!
Thank you for the reminder by the way, an overnight breakfast cookie definitely needs to be on my menu for this week!
And my night table has the book, “vanishing acts” by jodi picoult on it!
Wow I commend you for spending that much time in the library. I can’t stand the library for some reason, I never get much done there.
So HAPPY that your big projects are over with too! Congrats!!
Umm, I have 4 CDs that my best guy friend made me for my birthday titled: “The Classics-Vol. 1, 2, 3, & 4″
On my night stand is my 4 inch thick glasses that I only wear for 5 minutes before I go to sleep. Serious coke bottle action.
I love the grab bag of beers. I am impressed their wasn’t a generic black/white label “BEER” in there. You know, the kind with the word puzzles on the inside cap. Maybe my grandma is the only one who drinks those.
a paper flower, made by the boy.
You didn’t lose me in that confession!! Why else do you think I went on to graduate school and wrote a thesis that was 168 pages long…not including the bibliography?!
I love writing and researching….I should be a professional student.
and the chocolate mint…is it Yogi?
Nightside table: The Book Victorine by Catherine Texier (and my retainer…ewww, gross. You would think I’d have quit wearing it by now seeing my braces have been gone for nearly 15 years.)
Happiness Awaits
Ooo I like this game. I have a ridiculous amount of crap. Usually 2 bottles of water, 2 bottles of lotion, a stack of magazines, books, my glasses, cell phone charger, and somehow… one of my cats usually passes out on top of all of it.
I love that $6/6 mystery pack – that is too fun! I’d do it every time!
hmm, there’s a nail file on my nightstand. but more importantly, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! i’m so excited that you’re done, and i’m glad you’re pleased with the quality of your finished products. (and by this time tomorrow, i hope to be in your boat) I can’t wait until you come back to brooklyn, so hurry up!
but first, i suppose you’re allowed to celebrate in MA
Congrats!!!! Your non-academic reading material looks awesome!
On my nightstand: two half-empty glasses of water and an empty cup of coffee (can that count?)
A cheap ass coaster for my water glass.
Hooray! There is light at the end of the tunnel! And how much do I love a beer grab-bag?! Awesome!
yay for getting your stuff done! I enjoyed writing SOME of my papers in school – not all of them, but some were not too bad
I don’t have a nightstand! so….nothing?
