I like doing work…

27 03 2009

When it pays off. Before spring break last week, I posted a guide to beating academics on the day I had two exams and a legal lab due. Although I can speculate, I can never really know if I really won until I get my work back. But I was indeed victorious. Check it:

Legal Fictions Lab: it was out of 30 points. I got 30.5! Not sure how, but hey, I’m not complaining ;)

Youth Violence & Justice Exam: A! I never want to see case briefs again.

Literary Journalism Exam: A+, which is wonderful ammunition for conversations with my dad. When I tell him that I got another A, he goes “when are you going to get an A plus already?” There ya go dad! :) Plus, I studied my ass off hardcore for this exam.

And, when I got home and checked the mail, I received a letter saying that I’ve been awarded a scholarship of $750 for being one of the top sixty-junior year students! So now the question is…Garmin or Polar?! :)

So let’s leave bragging-land behind and move on to foods. Since I had two papers do today, I didn’t get a chance to post but like a good blogger, I took pictures! So, quick recap:

Wednesday eats:

An amazing bowl of overnight chai oats. I topped this wonderful creation with reduced fat shredded coconut and another one of Sarah’s Jasmine Tea Biscotti Bites! You should try some and you can. Check out the link for details!

1/2 cup oats, 1 cup of brewed Tazo Organic Chai with skim milk & 1/2 a banana.

In the fridge overnight: 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup of brewed Tazo Organic Chai with skim milk & 1/2 a banana. Heated up in the micro in morning.

Lunch was a big ass salad:

spinach, red cabbage, cucumber, cranberries, grape tomatoes, 1/2 cup of chickpeas mixed with lemon juice, oregano, fresh dill, pepper & salt

This snack was great. This yogurt was on sale and I <3 this particular flavor.

For dinner, I had a burger and fries…healthified :)

veggie burger with spinach, tomato & the rest of my cheese stick from lunch on a whole wheat sandwich thin + bell pep fries and steamed broc

Dessert was pretty fantastic too. I needed some PB, I missed it in the morning!

While eating dinner, I caught up with LOST. You know, I gave Ben the benefit of the doubt for a while but now I am convinced that’s he’s a lying asshole. This show just blows my mind :)

Amy's Lentil soup. To be honest, I thought this tasted kind of plain...I have to try the curried lentil next time maybe? It's just too expensive of a canned soup for me to taste so ordinary.

Dessert was some 100 cal kettle popcorn. The crunch helped me deal with the LOST anxiety :)

I’ve started to fulfill my blogging promises too:

  • My forbidden foods challenge (hosted by Vani) thoughts can now be seen here
  • The male species that has kept me on the brink of academic doom is identified in this post

Mom’s awesome recipe coming up in the next few days! Whew, I don’t actually think I have any papers to write this weekend, what a miracle!

I am really glad you guys liked my photos in the previous post. Some of you actually posted pictures you would choose and they were such a pleasure to see and read about! Thank you :)

I am finally going to get a chance to run tomorrowAnd definitely shop around for a HRM!

What are you excited for this weekend?

Awarded a scholarship of $750?!?! You simply kick ass.

This weekend I am looking forward to doing nothing. And when I mean nothing, I want the most exciting and adventurous part of my day to be my 40 minute workout and deciding what I am having for breakfast.

I need a weekend to recharge….and I should work on getting my presentation together. I should take notes from all your mega productiveness!

Congratulations on the awesome grades and scholarship. You deserve them!

As for a HRM, I haven’t tried Polar, but I really like my Garmin (though I don’t have the HRM for it). There’s my two cents…
