I’m a champion sleeper. I slept so late today (understandably so, since I stayed up ridiculously late my last night in Brooklyn). Then I did my treadmill business, it was fab!
My dad and I bought matching headbands. That’s how cool we are.
My brunch was so colorful and filling, it’s unreal.
In the bowl: fage 0%, 1 cup All Bran Original, flax, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and two figs. I wasn’t kidding when I said my parents restocked my fridge!
Then, instead of unpacking, my roomies and I watched some TV and drank tea, out of cutest teapot you’ll ever see:
I was going to try out some new recipe for dinner, but my awesome neighbors Amy and Josh invited us over for a meal. We’ve missed each other =]
Our house brought over a huge plate of sweet potato fries, which I ate some of. Don’t judge, we were in a rush, k?
The main attraction was jambalaya, made with a store bought mix + smoked sausage, shrimp and diced tomatoes. SOOOO GOOOD.
Gordon Sanchez also joined us for our meal on Josh’s lap. If he didn’t poop in the bathtub sometimes, he’d pass for a human for sure.
Amy got this out of the fridge for dessert: Red Beans Ice Cream?!
I’ve never heard of this before and had a teaspoonful taste. Umm…I don’t know. It actually has those tiny whole azuki beans in it, which is like….what? The ingredients are literally milk, sugar and beans. It’s unnatural but okay. I wouldn’t buy it though.
Another thing I never thought I’d see on a living person: A SNUGGIE. Have you guys seen infomercials for these blankets with arm holes? Ridiculous.

They show Snuggie commericals ALL THE TIME on my morning bus! I always wondered who would buy that sort of thing. That is too funny!
NO WAY. We see the snuggie commercial all the time!!!!! That’s insane!
Love the matching headbands. Not so sure about the red bean ice cream.
I keep telling my husband that I want a Snuggie. He thinks I’m kidding. HELLO! Buy one get one free AND you get two free book lights. What’s not to love?
First–you know someone who owns a snuggie. I feel like that means I sort of know someone who does…and well I never thought thay day would come true.
Second–Gordon Sanchez looks IDENTICAL to my cat, Stiletto. Maybe he is her long lost brother that I didn’t adopt at the pound because my husband may have killed me if I brought home 2 unexpected cats.

YES! I heart jambalaya. HaHa I’m glad you and your dad bonded over matching headbands.
haha, i keep a snuggie at my mom’s house in MA because it is always so cold there!!
you and dad are too cute with matching sweatbands.
p.s. there a place in chinatown here in ny where i used to go for red bean ice cream in college. i have no idea what the ingreds were, but i loved it!
I’m starting a Snuggie Cult. Looks like Sarah and Jenn want to join.Instead of drinking magic koolaid we can eat magic PB cookie Larabars and then go get on our spaceship. Anyone else in???
Fun dinner with neighbors…that ice cream sounds a bit too crazy for me too though.
OMG I asked for a Snuggie for Christmas, but OF COURSE they couldn’t ship in time, so I had to go without! They are so cool.
Lucky you with no Monday class!
HOLY CRAP! YOUR FRIEND IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PERSON EVER. I seriously am obsessed with the snuggie commercial and literally die laughing every time i see it. When the whole family is outside wearing matching ones i just can’t control myself. it’s actually a huge joke with my family.
i was having a great night already and you seriously just made it even better. thank you!
Okay, can we talk about how I just screamed, “OHMYGOD A SNUGGIE!!!” when I saw that picture?
I laugh at that info-mercial every single time.
Your eats look totally delicious today. I would even try the red bean ice cream. I think it’s very Asian…
I collect teapots, so I’m LOVING that cute one!!
Blanket with sleeves?? I need that. Now.
Enjoy your evening and your day tomorrow!!
