Product Reviews!

21 12 2008

Yeah. I’m going there.

For breakfast this morning, I had a packet of Quaker High Fiber Oatmeal in Cinnamon Swirl with 1/2 a banana, blueberries, raspberries and some almonds. Not my favorite, those little packets, but that’s all we had.

Lunch consisted of not one, but two products I shall share reviews with you about! Aren’t you lucky?

Numero uno:

From the website: Arnold Natural Health Nut: Made with crushed whole wheat, real walnuts, wheat bran and barley for a delightfully nutty taste and texture. 8 Grams of Whole Grains and 3 grams of Fiber per slice.

My take: I affirm this description. The bread is soft and chewy with crunchy nuts throughout. At a 100 calories a slice, it’s a good investment. Good sized sandwich bread too!

Numero dos:

Light Southwestern-Style Vegetable Soup

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a sucker for canned soups, mostly because of the convenience factor. Of course, I can spend an hour making soup on the stove from scratch, but during the semester, that’s an hour away from finishing that paper or starting that book I was supposed to be done with already.

My biggest beef with canned soups is the saltiness. Usually, it pretty much destroys any taste its supposed to have. But Campbell’s Select Harvest Light varieties are actually tasty and at only 50 calories per serving for this particular flavor, I have no problem eating the whole can at once.

Although it has enough veggies (carrots, peppers, black beans), a little extra broc never hurt anyone, so I threw some in.

You can see if these products are available in your area by checking out the websites and typing in your zip code.

I also baked Tina’s Chocolate Pumpkin Loaf for a gathering I’m going to tonight…It’s just that good, everyone loves it!

The only difference is that I used two eggs, instead of egg whites, I didn’t have any. It’s still pretty rockin’

Back for dinner later tonight!
